Holistic Healing involves the use of many therapies in order to bring a person's body, mind and energy into greater balance.  The basis of our treatment protocol is rooted in Chinese Medicine, namely acupuncture and herbal preparations.  However, depending on an individual's constitution and presentation of symptoms, Aloha practitioners tend to use many different techiniques in order to influence a person's health.  Most are outlined in the following.

Cupping

Suction created using small glass cups may be used to simulate a deep tissue massage.  This helps to open the channels, relieve the muscles and release pathogenic factors.

Tui Na

This form of Chinese massage may be used in conjunction with an acupuncture treatment to help open the channels before needles are used.

Moxabustion

Moxabustion is a form of therapy that involves burning a special blend of herbs close to an acupuncture point.  The heat carries the healing properties of the herbs into the point to create a threapeutic effect.

Electro-Stimulation

Microcurrents are connected to the needles to provide additional stimulation for the treatment of inflammation, pain and nervous conditions.

Gemstone Therapy

Gemstones may be used during your acupuncture treatment.  The properties of various minerals have certain healing effects and may be placed upon acupoints in order to stimulate certain meridians.  The practitioner might also prescribe that certain stones be used in vibrational waters that a patient prepares at home.

Essential Oils

Essential oils contain some of the richest healing properties of plants and might also be applied to various acupuncture points during a treatment.  Your practitioner may also prescribe a custom essential oil formula to be taken internally.  As the oils contain the essence of the plant, they can in turn effect deeper levels of a person's constitution addressing more severe or deeply rooted symptoms and issues.
